My partner has been seperated from his wife for 9yrs and every time i ask him to get a divorce he says he dosent need to the reason for that bein after 5yrs it`s done automatically but he dosent have any conformation of it is he telling me the truth

Regardless what he says, its not automatic divorse...
He needs to apply for a decree..., this is the paper that says he is divorsed...
If you don`t believe him, go to the local register office and ask there if he is still married...
Word of warning, if he is being cagie about this, what else is he hiding from you...
